Originally discovered in the endless atmospheres of gas-giant planets, where they soared through clouds of floating plankton-like nutrients, they have since been discovered on more Earth-like worlds. Four tiny compound eyes alert them to danger from above or below, while rows of sonar-detectors provide an extra sense of their environment, as their wings and rudder-like tail steer them gracefully through the atmosphere.
