A little tip: Most of these brushes are made to use with a bright foreground color and darker background colors. Try using them in a seperate layer with the layer type set to screen, linear dodge or color dodge. You can also add a “glow” to it by duplicating the brush layer, selecting the original brush layer and adding a little bit of a gaussian blur and setting the layer type to “screen”.
